Peace Brigades International-USA is a movement of committed individuals united in a common vision of promoting peace and human rights and a key part of the larger international organization. PBI USA, as one of 12 country groups in Europe and North America, is responsible for the vital support work that allows the field projects (in Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Kenya, and Indonesia, and formerly in Nepal) to operate smoothly. Our main areas of work are political support building, recruitment and training of volunteers, outreach and communications, and fundraising.

PBI-USA helps recruit U.S. volunteers for PBI field projects in Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico. Field volunteers work to provide protective accompaniment to human rights defenders threatened for their work and includes international observation, monitoring, and advocacy work for an end to human rights abuses and non-violent conflict resolution. There is a minimum commitment of 12-18 months, depending upon the Project country. Learn more about volunteering here.
